The Importance of Back Pain Treatment

Back Pain Chiropractic Treatments with our Bozeman Chiropractor

Any level of back pain can be a huge impediment to your daily activities, and it can certainly drive down your quality of life. Particularly if you’ve never been to a chiropractor, however, you may be skeptical or feel you need more information on how the treatment actually works. In that case, it can be helpful to get a bit of an understanding about what is causing your back pain to begin with.

Possible Causes of Back Pain

Back pain can come from a wide range of causes, but some of the most common are pinched nerves and slipped discs. These often go hand in hand, as a disc that’s out of place reduces the space the nerve root has to fit through. This, in turn, can cause the nerve to become compressed. Often, a misalignment of the spine leads to back pain by making the supporting muscles and ligaments do more of the work required to support your body.

As a result of this, you can suffer a sprain or strain of these supporting soft tissues, and that’s something our chiropractor can treat as well. Other potential causes of back pain include osteoarthritis, scoliosis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, repetitive movements and poor posture.

Chiropractic Back Pain Treatments

To treat your back pain, our chiropractor will first perform a physical exam to determine the precise nature and cause of your symptoms. This will include testing your reflexes, strength, and range of motion as well as palpating your entire spine while paying specific attention to the affected area. We’ll also go over your medical history with you and discuss the development or progression of your symptoms.

Once we’ve established the cause of your back pain and discussed a treatment plan with you, we’ll perform a spinal adjustment or other appropriate treatment designed to provide relief from your symptoms. One of the great benefits of chiropractic back pain treatments is that they can simultaneously address the underlying condition causing your pain and provide pain relief. While prescription medications, for instance, may work to reduce your pain, they don’t address the cause, and so can’t stop your pain from returning once their effects have worn off.

Testimonials

Reviews From our Satisfied Patients

  • "I was very impressed with the chiropractic care I received from Darr. I had received chiropractic in the past for my neck pain, but not to this level of care. After only a few sessions, my symptoms began to disappear, especially my neck pain, and I know I would not have been able to perform to my everyday work functions without the treatment I received."
    John Doe / Bozeman, MT
  • "As a court reporter, using my hands to type on a daily basis is a requirement. The work is speedy and can often last for hours at a time. Several months ago, every movement I made became excruciatingly painful. I started seeing Darr and got started on a program that helped right away. The doctor stressed the importance of my posture and proper hand and arm placement."
    Jane Smith / Bozeman, MT
  • "I have benefited tremendously from the chiropractic care I received from Darr. Not only has the adjustments helped alleviate my stiffness and aches, but it has helped me have more energy and just feel more balanced over all. A few months ago, I was able to resume a favorite hobby of mine - golf. Due to my previous pain, I never thought that’d be possible."
